Brooke and Max met in the Fall of 2022 in the Fenway neighborhood of Boston, starting their first shift at the same café on the very same day. Max made Brooke cappuccinos with little hearts in the foam, and Brooke pretended to need far more coffee than any human reasonably should, just for an excuse to stand at the bar and talk to him. From the beginning, they looked forward to every shift together. Brooke was drawn to his work ethic, his speed behind the bar, and his calm presence. Max liked the way she brought people together by planning group hangouts, day trips, and adventures.

They spent their free time rock climbing, skiing, beating each other at arcade games, wandering Coolidge Corner, and talking about everything. Late one night out with friends, Brooke shared her anxieties about her future, and Max told her, in the most sincere way, that she was capable of anything she set her mind to. It was the kindest, truest encouragement, and one of the moments she knew he was special. Brooke became the café’s most loyal regular after she stopped working there, coming in for cappuccinos she did not need just to see Max again.

By the Summer of 2023, they finally started dating. Their first official date was memorable and perfectly reflected their personalities. Max showed up to the Boston Common dressed up, with flowers, a charcuterie spread, and brookie cookies. Brooke promised she would bring a picnic blanket, then showed up an hour late with a tarp from the hardware store after sprinting across the city searching for an actual blanket. Max still laughs about it.

Later that year, life sent them in different directions. Brooke moved to Tennessee for work, and Max moved to Brooklyn. They decided their connection was worth the distance. They flew back and forth, FaceTimed constantly, and made every visit count. There was even a stretch where Max spent three days in a row at the airport trying, and failing, to get to her. He eventually rerouted through Birmingham, and Brooke drove five hours round-trip to pick him up. They worked incredibly hard to stay connected.

And then life surprised them in the best way. When they found out Grayson was on the way, they knew they wanted to build a life together as soon as they could. Max moved to Tennessee to be with Brooke, and eventually they found their home in Asheville, North Carolina: a place close to Brooke’s family, surrounded by mountains, creativity, and space to grow their little family.

Now they are both in nursing school, studying side by side in cafés when they are not at the park with Grayson. They spend their free time going on dates around the city, being each other’s comedy partner, going on walks, and snuggling up to watch funny videos together at night. They have built a home gym, created a cozy nursery, and feel proud watching Grayson thrive. They love being his parents, his comedy duo, and his biggest fans.

They are excited to travel the world, build a warm and joyful home together, and keep growing into a life full of laughter, nature, creativity, and loyalty. This relationship means everything to them, and they cannot wait to continue becoming a deeper, more permanent part of each other’s everyday lives.
